Brief Intro

  • We’re dedicated to sharing the biography of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Muslim Reformer of the 14th Century Hijrah as well as the Promised Messiah and Mahdi. (The word “Hazrat” is an honorific title, signifying great esteem and respect, a bit like “Sir”, “Esquire”, etc.)
  • While he lived in this world, but was not of it. And we are excited to share the English translation of the most comprehensive—three-volume—monumental biography ever written about him. (The original biography—entitled Mujaddid-e-Azam—is in the Urdu language.
  • It’s the work of Dr Basharat Ahmad, who was one of his disciples.
  • Note, too, that the title Mujaddid-e-Azam literally translates as “The Great Reformer“, hence the name of this website.)
  • With the affordance of the English translation that you hold in your hands, you, too, have the opportunity to learn about his life and his work in depth so as to enrich your understanding of a life from an era gone by, though its lessons remain undiminished and, if anything, even more relevant today to nudging our lives in a more virtuous and meaningful direction.
  • At the very heart of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s life—in my altogether humble opinion—were his sublime devotion to Allah, to the Holy Prophet, and to the Holy Quran.
  • As mentioned up atop, he lived in this world, but was not of it, simply because his aforesaid aspects of devotion were absolute.
  • He was, in particular—and as betokened by his name, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad—the “ghulam,” of “Ahmad,” and which literally translates as “slave” of the Seal of the Prophets, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.) May your explorations of his life, right here online on this website, be blessed and auspicious ones.
  • Lastly, if you wondered what’s up with all the “maps” imagery, allow us to put your mind at ease: There is no digression into cartography—a fine area of study for its legions of devotees, I imagine—and the “maps” imagery is purely inspired by the theme of “exploration.” Imagine yourself as an explorer who is setting out to build a mental map; you get the idea, right?
  • And that is it.
  • Now go forth and enjoy reading and exploring what awaits you here.
